Anyone who has been involved with IM knows how popular Clickbank is for affiliate marketing. The range of products has been digital downloads for so many years, and all together there are at least 12,000 products to choose from. On the money side, they take care of all transactions, plus they distribute all affiliate paychecks and money disbursal. Regardless of being an affiliate or a Clickbank vendor, there are certain things you can learn that will help you. A mistake that many Clickbank merchants/vendors make is offering multiple payment options. This practice is full of good intentions, but in the long-run it causes harm to you as a vendor. If you offer an alternative such as Paydotcom, then you will lose up to half of your commissions, and possibly more, by doing this. Similarly, the Paydotcom affiliates will also know that their commissions could be lost if the customers decide to use Clickbank to make the payment. Yes, it is good for the customer, maybe, but not all and it is definitely a losing proposition for you. You need to advertise for affiliates, however you make your page location very obvious. You know the deal, perhaps, about commission theft, and that is when someone becomes an affiliate for you just to buy your product at a lower price. Many vendors place their affiliate join links in the footer, although we are still not too happy about that.

Another conversion killing mistake is by only having one lousy call to action in your sales copy.

There is good reason to have both in-line text order links as well as graphical ordering links. You can annoy your readers by placing too many calls to action, so exercise good judgment. You may find your orders will suffer if you only have one at the bottom of your letter. You can definitely have too many, and that creates the feeling of pressure to order which is not good. As with all things, you need to find that sweet spot between too few and too many.

As you can see, being a Clickbank vendor has its ins and outs that you should learn about. Only a handful of product vendors have been able to find success with Clickbank, not because it's difficult or is really confusing, but because they avoided such mistakes. This is something you can do if you are willing to put the work into it. There is nothing wrong with working hard, and we feel if you're willing to do more; then your results will show it.
